West Bengal SSC Scam: The Trinamool Congress leadership may have distanced itself from party leader Partha Chatterjee, who was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Saturday in connection with the multi-crore teacher recruitment scam, but for Chatterjee, Trinamool Congress supremo and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee continues. be the only and final source of consolation, as was evident from his arrest memo.

ED sources said the agency follows the procedure of issuing arrest memos while taking anyone into custody.

That process includes asking the person to be arrested, the name and contact number of the person he would like to contact while in custody. The name and contact details of that person have been mentioned in the arrest memo.

In this case, the state commerce and industry minister as well as party general secretary Chatterjee mentioned Mamata Banerjee’s name and mobile number, which was later added to the arrest memo.

In fact, while being taken for a medical checkup by ED officials on Saturday afternoon, Chatterjee said, “I don’t know where they are taking me. I tried, but I am yet to contact our Supreme Leader Mamata Banerjee.” I’ve found it.” ,

While the remark did not go down well with the Trinamool leaders, it became clear later on Saturday when four top party leaders called a press conference and announced that the responsibility of the entire development rests with Chatterjee and not the party.

In the press, state Transport Minister and Kolkata Mayor Firhad Hakim cast doubt on Chatterjee’s claim of trying to contact Mamata Banerjee, saying, “As soon as an arrest is made, the phone is usually confiscated by agency officials. So how could Parth Chatterjee try to contact the chief minister?”

The party leadership also made it clear that if Chatterjee is found guilty at the end of the investigation, it will not hesitate to take disciplinary action against him.
