WhatsApp rolled out the edit feature on WhatsApp web earlier this week and now it has extended the feature to Android. The feature is now available on both WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp Beta for Android in its latest beta version.

According to the report and the posted screenshot, users will see a new edit button under the overflow menu. To edit a message, users need to long-press on the message they want to edit and then tap on the three dots at the top right corner. Then select the Edit option to edit the message.
Note that WhatsApp will add an “Edited” label to a message that has been edited to let users know that the sender made some changes to the message after it was sent.
However, there’s a catch. WhatsApp has set up a window in which users will be able to make changes to the sent text using the new edit option. The window is 15 minutes and once the window is over, there is no way for “everyone” to make changes except to remove the message entirely.
Another major caveat to this feature is that it currently does not support multi-device mode. This means users will not be able to edit messages on other devices connected to Companion Mode.
