However, Telugu actor Chiranjeevi managed to finish shooting for a movie in just 29 days in the 80s, resulting in a massive hit. The movie that Chiranjeevi completed shooting in just 29 days is Intlo Ramayya Veedilo Krishnayya where he played the lead role. Directed by the legendary director Kodi Ramakrishna, the film starred Madhavi as the heroine. Released in 1982, it was a tremendous success, achieving blockbuster status and setting a record for being completed in such a short time frame.
It was later remade in Tamil as Veetula Raman Veliyila Krishnan (1983), in Kannada as Maneli Ramanna Beedheeli Kamanna (1983) and in Hindi as Ghar Mein Ram Gali Mein Shyam (1988). Directed by the veteran director Kodi Ramakrishna, it marked his debut film and was the first movie to run for 500 days continuously, earning Chiranjeevi immense popularity among family audiences.
Initially, Chiranjeevi hesitated to take on the role as he preferred Chandramohan for the character. Despite liking the script, he doubted whether the audience would accept him in such a gentle role. However, Kodi convinced him to play the character and his choice was vindicated by the film’s success.
In the film, Chiranjeevi portrays the character of a civil engineer named Rajasekharam, who arrives in a village and falls in love with Jayalaxmi, played by Madhavi. After their marriage, they relocate to a city. However, their neighbour Subba Rao, portrayed by Gollapudi Maruthi Rao, harbours ill intentions towards Jayalaxmi and causes complications in their life. The story unfolds as Rajasekharam navigates through these challenges to resolve the issues plaguing their relationship and family.
The majority of the shooting took place in Palakollu and its surroundings. The climax scenes were shot in Chiranjeevi’s house and Antervedipalem. The boat journey in the climax was filmed at Antervedi, where the River Godavari meets the Bay of Bengal.
