Ravneet Singh Bittu had been openly critical of AAP despite Rahul Gandhi’s support for Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, who was arrested by the ED on March 21 in liquor policy scam case

Ravneet Singh Bittu, Congress MP from Punjab’s Ludhiana joined the BJP on Tuesday ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. He is the grandson of former Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh.

“I am thankful to PM Narendra Modi…I can say with confidence that PM Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah share a lot of love for Punjab and they wish to do a lot for the state…Why should Punjab be left behind?…” Bittu said after joining the BJP.

Ravneet Singh Bittu had been openly critical of AAP despite Rahul Gandhi’s support for Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal, who was arrested by the ED on March 21 in liquor policy scam case.

“Kejriwal and party rose to power promising Swaraj & Jan Lokpal, but ironically they’ve turned out to be the biggest thugs. This corruption case in Delhi is just the tip of the iceberg. Punjabs’ looted money by runaway Chadha is yet to be recovered,” Bittu had posted on microblogging site X, a day after Kejriwal was arrested.

Who is Ravneet Singh Bittu?

Ravneet Bittu had won the Ludhiana seat for a second time consecutively in 2019. In March 2021, Bittu was briefly appointed the leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha when the existing Congress Lok Sabha leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury was busy in 2021 West Bengal election campaigns. He served as the leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha till July 2021.
