In Bollywood, many siblings like Sunny Deol – Bobby Deol, Vicky Kaushal – Sunny Kaushal, and Shilpa Shetty – Shamita Shetty have worked and still feature in films. At times, one of them garners a lot of love and recognition for their performances. While the other one may not receive much limelight. One such actress from a celeb sibling duo is Sharbani Mukherjee, who is the cousin of popular Bollywood actress Rani Mukerji. Sharbani is also the cousin of actress Kajol. Despite being a part of the film family and having a fantastic debut with one of the most popular films, Sharbani Mukherjee couldn’t survive in Bollywood.
She made her acting debut with the 1997 superhit film Border. She was cast as Suniel Shetty’s lover in the film. Even though her role was quite small, she was still able to garner a lot of love and attention for her beauty and elegance. Her other two sisters, Rani and Kajol, were giving hits after hits in the early 2000s. Unfortunately, that was when Sharbani started moving away from the limelight. After Border, she did some short films titled Salame Ishq Meri Jaan and Aaja Soniya Ghar Aaja Soniya.
Thereafter, Sharbani Mukherjee even shifted her focus to Bhojpuri and Malayalam films. She worked with Priaydarshan in the Malayalam film Raakilipattu. She also featured in films like Sufi Paranja Katha, Athma Kadha, and Namukkore Aakasham.
Sharbani Mukherjee had quit acting for a long time and prefers to stay away from the limelight. Recently, she was spotted with her sisters during the Durga Puja festivities. Sharbani, who is 54 years old now, has undergone a significant shift in appearance. This transformation can be seen in the images posted by her cousins from the festivities.
She has also kept herself away from social media and is not active there as well.
Rani Mukerji and Kajol are still quite active in the industry and have impressed their fans with recent performances in Mrs Chatterjee vs. Norway and Lust Stories 2, respectively.
