Also featuring is Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek BanerjeeStarring Aparshakti Khurana and Shraddha Kapoor, the film went on to be one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed films of 2018.
The makers had last month confirmed the sequel with the lead cast returning along with the director Amar Kaushik,
“‘Stree’ is very special to all of us. Amar and I discussed that we will not make it under pressure. We will make it with the same sincerity and love that we did while making Part One. We will keep ” Honesty in part two,” Rao told PTI on Friday.
“Stree” was set in the small town of Chanderi in Madhya Pradesh, where an evil spirit named ‘Stree’ kidnaps men at night during the festival season. It was based on the urban legend of “Nale Ba” that went viral in Karnataka in the 1990s.
Rao said that the follow-up is currently under pre-production and they will start shooting for the film soon. ,Street # 2“, produced by Dinesh Vijan and Jio Studios, will release in August 2024.
The actor co-hosted the IIFA Rocks event with filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan last night and was thrilled about the event.
“I am hosting IIFA Rocks for the first time and that too with Farah ma’am, whom I am in love with. She is wonderful and fabulous,” he added.
Khan, who directed films like “Main Hoon Na” and “Om Shanti Om”, praised Rao’s sense of humour.
