Will there be a sequel to ‘Barbie’? Warner Bros hints at a possibility | – Times of India

Fans have eagerly awaited a potential sequel to the 2023 hit movie ‘Barbie’, and recent hints suggest that it might become a reality. The film, featuring a star-studded cast including Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling, and America Ferrera, not only dominated the box office but also garnered significant acclaim during awards season, with nominations for Best Picture at the 2024 Oscars.
As anticipation builds, Warner Bros. CEO Pam Adby shared insights regarding the possibility of a sequel during an interview with Deadline. Pam expressed enthusiasm for the idea, stating her desire to revisit the Barbie universe. She mentioned ongoing discussions with director Greta Gerwig, although there are no concrete plans in motion yet.
While Warner Bros. appears keen on a sequel, leading lady Margot had expressed doubts about the sequel and told AP Entertainment, “I think we put everything into this one. We didn’t build it to be a trilogy or something. It was like, Greta put everything into this movie, so I can’t imagine what would be next.”
While on the subject of a sequel, Ryan had told Variety, “Oh, I’m not going anywhere near that. We really know nothing.”
