Woman constable hangs self in northwest Delhi’s Shastri Nagar | Delhi News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: A 27-year-old police constable allegedly hanged herself in her rented residence in Shastri Nagar, northwest Delhi, officials said on Tuesday.
The incident was brought to light by constable Preeti’s landlord, Kapil Gupta, who alerted the authorities at 10.17 pm on Monday.
According to the police, Gupta explained that he had to forcibly enter Preeti’s room, which was locked from the inside, and discovered her lifeless body hanging from a scarf.He immediately made a call to thePolice Control Room (PCR).
Preeti was rushed to a hospital but was pronounced dead, and authorities noted that no suicide note was discovered at the scene. They seized her mobile phone and the scarf for further investigation.
The constable, who was part of the 2022 batch, shared a 2BHK flat with her batch-mates. During the time of the incident, only one of her batch-mates was present in another room.
As of now, there is no evidence of foul play, and it appears the cause of the incident is of a personal nature, according to police sources. Preeti’s family has been informed, and legal actions are being initiated.
