Private bus strike on October 31
Private bus operators in Kerala have announced a strike on October 31 to demand a revision in student concession rates. They have also threatened an indefinite strike from November 21 if their demands are not met. The operators claim that the government has made unilateral decisions without consulting them, including mandatory seat belts for drivers and CCTV cameras in buses, which add financial burden. The government has also reclassified private limited stops buses as ordinary buses and cancelled permits for buses operating more than 140km.
