Wrestlers Protest: ‘Wrestlers did not speak indecent language’, police presented status report in court

The Delhi Police has given a clean chit to the wrestlers while filing a status report in the Patiala House Court. The court was told by the police that the wrestlers did not use any foul language during the dharna. The court has now listed the matter for further hearing on July 7.

According to information, wrestlers staged a sit-in at Jantar Mantar in Delhi against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was the President of the Wrestling Federation of India. Meanwhile, Bam Bam Maharaj had filed a petition in the Patiala House Court demanding that wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Sakshi Malik and Bajrang Punia were defaming the country. An FIR should be lodged against the wrestlers.

The court had sought a status report on the matter. Now the Delhi Police has filed a status report in the Patiala House Court. The wrestlers have got a clean chit in the report. Delhi Police told the court that the speech and objectionable language used at Jantar Mantar was done by ignorant Sikh protesters. The wrestlers did not use foul language. Wrestlers are not seen raising slogans.

Delhi Police has requested the Patiala House Court to close the complaint against the protesting wrestlers. Now the Patiala House Court will hear the matter on July 7. Let us tell you that recently there was a meeting between Union Minister Anurag Thakur and the wrestlers. In the meeting, the players had demanded that no case should be filed against them. Also demanded the arrest of MP Brij Bhushan Singh. Union Minister Anurag Thakur has given time till June 15 on this.
