In Punjab, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert till June 1. It is expected to rain in all the districts till Thursday. Jeth month started from 15th May. Nautapa begins when the Sun enters the Rohini Nakshatra, which began on May 25 and will continue till June 3. These are the hottest days of the year. Today is Nirjal Ekadashi, which means it is also the hottest day of Nautapa, but this time it is not happening. Western Disturbance has reduced the effect of summer. At the same time, it is expected to remain like this till June 3.

According to the data released by the Meteorological Department, this time Punjab has received 161% more rainfall in the month of May. Normally Punjab receives 17.30MM of rainfall in the month of May. But this time 45.1MM rainfall has been recorded in these 30 days. Except two districts of Punjab, Amritsar and Hoshiarpur, all the districts have received much more rain than normal.

Due to incessant rains in Punjab, a drastic drop in temperature is being recorded across Punjab. In the past, 30.2MM rainfall has been recorded in Ludhiana, 17MM in Gurdaspur and 14.5MM in Jalandhar. Due to which the temperature of most of the cities of Punjab is being recorded as low as 4.50 degrees.

Jeth’s heat remained only for 9 days
The month of Jeth has started from 15th May, but this time even the month of Jeth could not show effect for a long time due to Western Disturbance. From 15 to 23 May, the heat showed its strength. In these days itself, the temperature was recorded between 40 to 46 degrees. But ever since Nautpa started, the Western Disturbance did not allow the temperature to rise.

Know the temperature of today’s cities
Today it is raining in the cities of entire Punjab. Due to which the maximum temperature of entire Punjab is expected to be 24 to 28 degrees today, which is about 5 degrees cooler than the previous day.

Amritsar – The minimum temperature was recorded at 20.2 degrees, which is 3.2 degrees below normal and 2.3 degrees below the previous day. There was 3.4MM of rain in the last 24 hours. It will continue to rain today as well and the maximum temperature of the day is expected to be around 26 degrees.

JalandharThe minimum temperature was recorded at 19.6 degrees. 14.5MM of rain was recorded on the previous day. Today the temperature will remain around 26 degrees.

LudhianaThe minimum temperature was recorded at 20.3 degrees, which is 4.3MM less than normal. 30.4MM of rain was recorded on the previous day. Today the day temperature is expected to be less than 27 degrees.
