Yogi Adityanath reviews preparations for PM Narendra Modi’s Azamgarh visit | Varanasi News – Times of India

Varanasi: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath arrived in Azamgarh on Sunday to oversee preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming public meeting, where the inauguration of 10 airports, including the Manduri airport in the district, and Maharaja Suhel Dev State University is scheduled to take place on March 10.
Upon landing at Manduri airport, Yogi proceeded directly to the public meeting venue near the airport for a site inspection.He instructed officials to ensure that all preparations are completed within the stipulated time. During the same public meeting, the PM will inaugurate 10 airports across the country, including four in the state, and the remaining in other states. Yogi also assessed the progress of Maharaja Suhel Dev State University.
While at the airport, Yogi highlighted the importance of installing digital boards and kiosks showcasing the ‘One District One Product’ initiative, featuring products such as saris and black pottery from Mubakarpur and neighbouring areas. Officials informed Yogi that development projects worth Rs 10 crore, including those related to the airport and university, have been completed and will be included in the list of projects to be inaugurated by the Prime Minister. Yogi also instructed officials to prioritise cleanliness and launch a mega sanitation drive across Azamgarh city and its major areas. He stressed the need to green the entire city through extensive plantation drives and requested the formulation of traffic diversion plans and adequate parking arrangements to minimise inconvenience during the Prime Minister’s visit. Additionally, he asked officials to install waterproof German hangar tents in anticipation of possible rain during the public meeting.
Ensuring the availability of drinking water, toilets, and lunch packets based on the expected crowd size, as well as implementing foolproof security arrangements, were also highlighted by Yogi. He also laid emphasis on the activation of the public address system at the venue to facilitate crowd management.
Key figures present during the visit included local BJP MP Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua, district magistrate Vishal Bhardwaj, superintendent of police Anurag Arya, as well as officials from the Airport Authority of India, PWD, transport, and other departments.
Separately, Yogi paid homage to the late renowned litterateur Dr Kanhaiya Singh by visiting his family members at their home.

CM Yogi: UP to soon be first state to have fire stations at tehsil level
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced that Uttar Pradesh has set up 71 fire stations in the last seven years and is on track to become the first state to have a fire station at the tehsil level. He also flagged off 35 fire fighting vehicles. The fire department has undergone modernisation, including streamlining the NOC process.
