‘Youth are the torchbearers of the country’. Mysore News – Times of India

Mysuru: The world is looking up to India as it has more youth population than any other country, says Nehru’s Southern India Regional Director Youth Center Organization (NYKS) MN Nataraj.
Speaking at the youth festival organized at Maharani Arts College for Women, he said that youth are the torchbearers of the nation. The event was jointly organized by the Union Ministry Play Affairs and Youth Empowerment, National Service Scheme (NSS) Cell of University of Mysore, NYKS Mysuru, Queen’s College of Arts for Women and Department of Sports Affairs and Youth Empowerment.
He said that China, which has the largest population in the world, does not have the young population of India and this is the main reason for various countries of the world to look towards India.
He said that both NYKS and National Service Scheme (NSS), which have expanded their activities across the country, are making all out efforts to train the youth besides motivating them to participate in constructive national building activities.
Both the organizations are organizing youth festivals in all the 744 districts of the country. He said that the participation of youth in national building activities also helps in solving many problems plaguing the country.
The program was presided over by Chamaraja MLA K Harishgowda. Principal of Maharani’s College BV Vasanthakumar, University of Mysore NSS Coordinator MB suresh and others were present.
