YouTube Music’s New Feature: Listen to Songs Offline on Web | – Times of India

Last week, news about YouTube Music web getting offline downloads support surfaced and now, the company has already started rolling out the feature to select users, as per a report by 9to5Google.
The album/single page on YouTube Music web has received a new familiar looking ‘downloads’ button at the top, placed between “Save to library” and three-dot overflow menu.Clicking on it, and download the entire album or the single track and it also shows the “Downlading” indicator at the bottom-left corner.
To be able to find the download songs, the Library page now has a dedicated “Downloads” tab at the top. The section allows users to access playlists, podcasts, songs and albums. The YouTube Music web will now automatically show the downloaded songs when it detects “No internet connection”.
It is also important to note that YouTube Music requires an active internet connection at least once every 30 days for the downloaded songs to remain available.
Considering YouTube does not have a dedicated Music app for the desktops, the addition of downloads option in the web version is a welcome addition. This will allow users to download the songs and listen to them anytime they want, even when there’s no internet connection available.
Another important thing to note is that users might need a YouTube Premium subscription to be able to download songs offline on the web as well. And, the feature will be available on multiple web browsers including Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Opera.
