Alphabet Inc’s YouTube said on Friday the platform would stop removing content spreading false claims related to the 2020 and earlier US presidential elections.

“In the current climate, we find that while removing this content helps curb some misinformation, it may also have the unintended effect of curbing political speech,” YouTube said in a blog post.
