The northern states of the country including Delhi, Punjab and Himachal have witnessed flood like situation due to heavy rains. In the last 24 hours, 22 deaths have been reported in separate incidents of landslides and floods in North India including Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

Due to 9 days of rain in July, the total rainfall of the country is now more than normal. The normal rainfall till 9 July was 239 mm. Now the figure has crossed it to 243 mm, which is 2% more. Delhi received maximum rain in the last 24 hours. It received 49 mm more rainfall than normal. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in 25 states including Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in the next 24 hours.
