A former software engineer, Balaga Haribabu, has been arrested in a theft case in Srikakulam district. Haribabu, who lost his job due to gambling addiction, had been involved in multiple robbery cases. To avoid leaving fingerprints, he used socks as gloves. He had also taken loans from various people before his arrest. In his most recent theft, he stole gold ornaments and cash from a teacher’s house. He later changed into new clothes from the victim’s wardrobe and left his stained trousers behind. He also mortgaged the stolen gold.
