Reports suggest that the delay in the launch of the iPhone 15 series may affect Apple’s sales in the September quarter. Also, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are expected to have limited availability at the time of their launch in September due to screen manufacturing issues.

Cupertino-based tech giant Apple, which is generally known to launch new iPhones in September every year, may face a delay in the launch of the iPhone 15 series to 2023. According to a recent report, the iPhone 15 series smartphones may hit the market only in October instead of September.

Bank of America global securities analyst Vamsi Mohan suggested that Apple’s iPhone 15 devices could be delayed by “a few weeks”, but did not give a reason for the delay.

Reports suggest that the delay in the launch of the iPhone 15 series may affect Apple’s sales in the September quarter. Also, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are expected to have limited availability at the time of their launch in September due to screen manufacturing issues.

According to a MacRumors report, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have thinner bezels than the iPhone 14 Pro models, and this reduction in bezel size is causing problems. Apple suppliers are reportedly using a new display manufacturing process to shrink the bezel size, and this is causing problems with displays made by LG Display.

Apple had a similar problem in 2019 with the increased display size of the Apple Watch Series 7, and that device was delayed by almost a month. LG displays are failing reliability tests during the process where the display is attached to the metal casing. Apple is tweaking the design of the LG display so it can pass the tests, and it still has Samsung displays it can use for assembly.

Contrary to the Bank of America report, the information states that Apple will not delay the launch of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. However, fewer units will be available in the initial launch, leading to a possible shortage. The manufacturing issue will primarily affect the iPhone 15 Pro Max, making it the most challenging device to obtain upon release.
