Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Police on Wednesday foiled a major terror plot by arresting five suspected terrorists.
According to TV reports, the authorities, acting quickly on intelligence, apprehended the suspects, who are believed to be involved in planning a major explosion in the city.
The five accused, identified as Syed Suhail, Umar, Junaid, Mudasir and Zahid, were serving jail term at Parappana Agrahara Central Jail in connection with the 2017 murder.
TV reports quoted officials as saying that all the terror suspects were linked to the Jamaat-e-Islami.
Police also recovered bomb-making materials and weapons from their possession.
