Family held hostage by gang of interstate robbers, caught Hubli News – Times of India

Chitradurga: Due to the timely action of Chitradurga Police, a businessman was saved from the clutches of notorious robbers. Police recently arrested three interstate robbers while they were planning a robbery in Chitradurga. One by one the accused kept getting arrested. Police recovered Rs 49.5 lakh in cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 9 lakh from them.

They allegedly barged into the businessman’s residence nazeer ahmed On July 8, at 9.30 am, the family members were threatened by showing a country-made pistol in Bank Colony, Chitradurga. The accused stayed in the house till 5.30 pm and demanded Rs 1 crore, which was later reduced to Rs 50 lakh.
K ParshuramThe Superintendent of Police of Chitradurga gave this information Nazeer Ahmed did not have Rs 50 lakh in cash at home and approached his partner for Rs 25 lakh and a relative in Hubli for the rest. The robbers took Nazir’s son Sameer and his son-in-law Shahjahan hostage and through them extorted Rs 25 lakh from their accomplice. He collected the rest of the money from Nazir’s relatives in Davanagere. However, Nazir’s family members got suspicious and informed the police.
The SP said, “The accused changed their plan and wanted to take Sameer’s car which was parked in front of his house. After collecting the money, they returned to Nazir’s house through another route.”
Parashuram said that the robbers had threatened the family members and also took away their mobile phones. The SP said, “After recovering Rs 25 lakh in Davanagere, our team chased the accused and nabbed one of the three near Santebennur. We arrested another robber the next day. We arrested Prasannakumar on Sunday.” And he revealed the truth about the incident.”
He also informed that the arrested accused are habitual criminals. Sammu was involved in more than 20 dacoity cases across the state. They gathered detailed information about the businessman and his property before the robbery. These miscreants used stolen cars for robbery. SP Parshuram said, “Further investigation is on. A detailed charge sheet will be filed after the investigation.”
