Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has once again targeted senior Congress leader and former CM Charanjit Singh Channi. Bhagwant Mann said during a public meeting in Sangrur on Monday that he recently went to Dharamshala Stadium in Himachal to watch an IPL match. There he was told by a player from Punjab that Channi, through his nephew, had demanded Rs 2 crore from him for the job.

On the other hand, after this allegation of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Charanjit Channi reached Chamkaur Sahib Gurudwara on Monday late evening itself. Channi gave his clarification by praying in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib here. Standing in front of Sri Guru Granth Sahib, Channi said that he never took money from anyone for any work, nor asked his relatives to take money in the name of transfers or jobs.

Mann had leveled allegations of corruption
Earlier, during a meeting in Sangrur district on Monday morning, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made serious allegations of corruption against Channi. Mann said that last week he went to watch a cricket match at Himachal’s Dharamshala Stadium on the invitation of Preity Zinta, owner of IPL franchise Punjab Kings. There he met a player who told that he went to the then CM Captain Amarinder Singh during the previous Congress government in Punjab to get a job. Captain told him that your work will be done. Meanwhile, the Congress removed the Captain and Channi became the Chief Minister. After this, when the player met Channi, Channi asked him to meet his nephew.

According to Mann, when the player met Channi’s nephew, he said that it would take two. The player thought that maybe he is saying 2 lakh rupees. So when he reached with two lakh rupees, Channi’s nephew started abusing him because according to him two means two crore rupees.

According to Bhagwant Mann, Channi and his family still call themselves poor. When the vigilance team goes to their house, these people say that the vigilance people are going to the houses of the poor. Tell me, has the vigilance ever gone to the homes of the poor?
