Scoop: Hansal Mehta was initially resistant to casting Prosenjit Chatterjee in ‘Scoop’ – Times of India

Mumbai, Film Producer Hansal MehtaWho is looking forward to the release of his upcoming streaming show ‘Scoop‘, recently shared that he was initially hesitant to cast the Bengali superstar Prosenjit Chatterjee for the part of crime reporter Jaydeb Sen,
In the series, which is based on the journalist’s book ‘Behind Bars in Byculla: My Days in Prison’ Jigna VoraProsenjit plays a senior crime journalist with a stellar network in both the law and order machinery and the underworld.
Talking about Prosenjit’s casting, Hansal told IANS, “The idea to cast Prosenjit Chatterjee came from Monica Shergill (VP of Content, Netflix). We were looking for someone to play that role. Been looking and couldn’t find the right person.”
He further added, “Initially I was a bit resistant to the production of Prosenjit Chatterjee who plays Jayadeb Sen, and has the image of a very romantic hero, after all he is Biswajit’s son. Despite it being a very important part , The length of the role is very limited.”
‘Scoop’ will be available to stream on OTT from June 2, 2023.
