Brown Sugar Worth 26l Seized In City, Two Women Arrested | Bhubaneswar News – Times of India

Bhubaneswar: The special crime unit of commissionerate police seized 256 grams of brown sugar worth Rs 26 lakh from Jadupur under Khandagiri police station limits here on Saturday. Two women drug peddlers were also arrested. Three phones and a laptop were seized from them.
The accused were identified as Karishma Rout, 30 and Pragyan Priya Swain, 23. While Rout is from Bhadrak district, Swain is a native of Puri district.
Based on intelligence input, the team conducted a raid and found the two women making small packets of the contraband. “The woman drug peddlers are educated. One of them is a post graduate in computer application. The duo was staying in the house as tenants identifying themselves as working woman,” said twin cities police commissioner Sanjib Panda.
Police said the kingpin of the drug syndicate is absconding and police have launched a manhunt to nab him.
