Hitting back at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said he does not care about the names that are ridiculed. PM Modi on Tuesday termed the opposition alliance India as the most directionless alliance the country has ever seen and cited dubious names like East India Company and Indian Mujahideen to say that people cannot be misled just by using the country’s name.

The Center and the Opposition are at loggerheads over the Manipur issue. While the Center claims to be ready for discussion, the opposition has accused them of running away from the debate.

Sources said that PM Modi on Tuesday named several organizations named ‘India’ to make it clear that nothing changes by merely having such a word in their nomenclature.

Responding to PM Modi, Rahul Gandhi said in a tweet, “Mr Modi, call us whatever you want. We are India. We will help heal Manipur and wipe away the tears of every woman and child. We will bring back love and peace for all its people. We will rebuild the idea of India in Manipur.”

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge also tweeted, “Absolute horror stories are slowly coming out now. India demands answers from the Modi government on the Manipur violence.” Kharge said the time has come for Modi to shed his “arrogance” and take the country into confidence on Manipur.
