Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police on Saturday registered a case against a TV channel and its editor-in-chief for posting an purported video clip of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asaduddin Owaisi.
The police acted on the complaint of Mohammad Irfan Khan, a party worker and social media administrator, and registered a case under sections 153 (A), 469 and 504 of the Indian Penal Code.

The FIR, citing the complaint, said that the video was posted on social media on July 21 and was described as malicious, defamatory and defamatory in nature. It quoted the complainant as saying that the video clip hurts religious sentiments, and was intended to promote enmity between religious groups.
