Chowta Files Papers After Roadshow | Mangaluru News – Times of India

Mangaluru: BJP candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency, Capt Brijesh Chowta, filed his nomination after a massive roadshow on Thursday, the last day to file nominations. Chowta had filed a nomination on March 28.
Several senior BJP leaders, including incumbent MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, former ministers CT Ravi, Pramod Madhwaraj, and Sunil Kumar, Udupi-Chikamagalur BJP candidate Kota Shrinivas Poojari, MLAs of the district and JD(S) leaders participated in the roadshow.Chowta offered prayers at major temples and offered floral tributes to Bharat Mata at the BJP office in the city, before the commencement of the roadshow. Hundreds of party workers from all taluks of the district, took part in the procession. CT Ravi said that the Dakshina Kannada district is experiencing a saffron surge, that will ensure a massive victory for the BJP. Slamming chief minister Siddaramaiah over his economic policies, Ravi alleged that they have led to soaring inflation, thereby burdening the people. “Women should realise that the Rs 2,000 they get every month was snatched from their husband’s pockets as tax by the state government,” Ravi said on the Gruha Lakshmi scheme of the government. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel said that Chowta would win with a huge margin of more than 4 lakh votes.
Women donate for
security deposit
Women BJP workers offered a sum as their contribution towards the security deposit of party candidate Chowta. On Wednesday, women handed over the money to Chowta, after offering traditional ‘arati’ and ‘tilak’ to him.
“The party has given an opportunity to an ex-serviceman to protect the Hindutva stronghold. I will work as per the aspirations of the people, especially women,’’ Chowta said.
