In the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election, the high command abandoned the ‘Chaudhary family’. The entire election campaign was left to the hands of the Punjab Congress. Today is the last day of campaigning for the by-elections but no leader from the central leadership of the Congress came here to campaign. The entire Congress is busy in Karnataka. Where apart from the senior national leaders of the Congress, the Gandhi family is also campaigning. Although this thing is bothering the Congress leaders as well, but no one is able to say anything openly about the top leadership.

MP Chaudhary died during Rahul Gandhi’s visit
After 2014, Santokh Singh Chowdhary of Congress won the election from Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat in 2019 as well. On January 14 this year, he participated in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra coming towards Jalandhar. Meanwhile, 76-year-old MP Chaudhary passed away while walking with Rahul. Because of which by-elections are being conducted on this seat 11 months before the Lok Sabha elections.

High command limited to giving ticket to Chaudhary’s wife
After the death of MP Santokh Chowdhary, the Congress high command has given ticket to his wife Karmjit Kaur. The Congress must have taken this decision quickly so that after the death of the MP, there is no infighting in the party over the ticket. However, after this, the central leadership does not seem to be doing anything further to ensure victory here.

At the time of nomination of candidate Karmjeet Kaur, Congressmen tried to show unity but despite this, Navjot Sidhu, Amarinder Raja Warding and Charanjit Channi are campaigning separately.

Congress divided into pieces became difficult
For Karmjit Kaur, wife of MP Santokh Chowdhary, the split Punjab Congress is also finding it difficult after the central leadership distanced itself. Although Navjot Sidhu, former CM Charanjit Channi, Punjab Congress Chief Amarinder Raja Warding, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Pratap Singh Bajwa are campaigning in Jalandhar, but all are running their own campaigns separately. Since the fight between Captain Amarinder Singh and Navjot Sidhu in the Punjab Congress, the Congressmen are still unable to unite.
