Kolkata: The decomposed body of a elderly man Was found in an abandoned shop in South Kolkata Netaji Nagar areapolice said on Sunday.
person identified as Biplab Kumar Pal, was missing for the last 10 days. His house in Sree Colony is near an abandoned shop, said a police officer.
On Saturday evening, locals noticed foul smell coming from the vacant shop and alerted the authorities Netaji Nagar Police Station,
When police reached the spot and opened the shop, they found the decomposed body of a seventy-year-old man, he said, adding the cause of death is yet to be ascertained and further investigation is on.
He said the family of the deceased had lodged a missing report with the local police and a search was launched.
