According to the complaint, the woman and Chopra had met about a year ago through a matrimonial website.
They chatted for some time and as their courtship progressed, Chopra promised to marry her. He came to Surat where he was introduced to the family members of the woman.
In Surat, Chopra had physical relations with the woman. During their relationship, Chopra used to ask her for money for different reasons and the woman gave him a total of Rs 2.91 lakh on different occasions. But whenever the woman talked about marriage, Chopra would make excuses.
When the woman felt betrayed and cheated, she lodged a complaint against Chopra. Police sub-inspector PB Meswania is investigating the case.
