Varanasi: Banaras Hindu University has organized several activities on the campus to celebrate the birth anniversary of its famous founder, Bharat Ratna Mahamana Pandit Madan Mohan. Malviya,
Chancellor Prof. inaugurated the three-day flower exhibition at Malviya Bhavan on Sunday. VK Shukla did it. Garden in-charge Professor Anand Kumar Singh said that a total of 638 participants participated in the flower exhibition, in which about 7,936 exhibits were displayed in different groups. The exhibition will remain open till 6 pm on December 27.
Apart from University Departments/Hostels/Gardens, 39 GTC, Cantonment Board, Deputy Director Horticulture Varanasi, District Horticulture Officer of Varanasi, Azamgarh, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Mirzapur, various institutions including Son BhadraSant Ravidas Nagar (Bhadohi), Chandauli and Mau, Banaras Locomotive Factory, Varanasi, Central Jail Varanasi, North East Railway Varanasi, District Jail Varanasi, Dhirendra Kanya Mahavidyalaya, Vindhya Gurukul CollegeMirzapur, local nurseries, hotels and citizens participated in the exhibition.
BHU also celebrated Diwali to mark the occasion. The entire Malaviya Bhavan was lit up with 11,000 earthen lamps. In the Rajiv Gandhi South Campus of BHU in Barkachha area of ​​Mirzapur district, Diwali was also celebrated by lighting up administrative block, Malviya Udyan and other buildings with 5,000 earthen lamps.
On this occasion, a ‘painting competition’ on the life of Mahamana was also organized by the Institute of Science in which students depicted the life of Mahamana through pictures.
Earlier on December 24, a play based on the life of Mahamana ‘Mahamana: Against the Flow, with the Time’ was staged at Swatantrata Bhavan. Through this play, the life struggle of Mahamana and the important events of his life were presented in a dramatic manner.
The play was scripted by Professor Manjit Chaturvedi, former Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, and directed by Ravi Rai, a research scholar in the Department of English.
