Fake immigration racket busted, four arrested

LB Nagar’s Special Operations Team (SOT) in association with Neredmet Police busted a gang of four persons running fake immigration consultancy racket and seized fake ID cards, passports, bank documents, among others. Police said they were illegally sending job aspirants from India to the US by creating fake Telangana state government employee identity cards, sponsorship letters and other documents.

The accused were identified as Garlapati Venkata Durga Nageshwara Siddhartha, 38, Nathala Prabhakar Rao, 48, Jakkula Nageswara, 45, and Gotukula Nagaraju, 33, said the police, adding that they also froze ₹7.02 lakh in their banks.

“Nageshwar Siddhartha has been running a consultancy called St.Anthony Immigration in Secunderabad for the past six years, charging ₹5 lakh, and initially ₹1.5 lakh as processing fee, with the help of his assistant Prabhakar Rao. They fraudulently use the sponsorship letter of an Indian couple living in the US, copy and edit it, and make candidates’ entries. Till now, he had sent around 50 to 60 applicants for US visa interview out of which 10 were able to go to the US,” said the police.
