Former Union Minister V Srinivasa Prasad to Not Campaign for BJP Due to Poor Health | Mysuru News – Times of India

Mysuru: Former Union minister and Chamarajanagar BJP MP V Srinivasa Prasad on Thursday said that he will not campaign for the party in the Lok Sabha elections due to his poor health.
While he reiterated that he will not contest the polls, the senior Dalit leader stated that both his sons-in-law are aspirants for the Chamarajanagar LS constituency. But, he will not campaign even if the BJP fields one of them, he clarified.
Speaking to reporters after a meeting BJP state unit president BY Vijayendra, he stated that he communicated his personal opinion about his replacement candidate for Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency to Vijayendra. “I am retiring from electoral politics on March 17. But my support for BJP will remain,” he said.
He also took a dig at CM Siddaramaiah and asked him not to engage in dirty politics. “He is shouting only about his guarantee schemes. He is like a frog in the well. PM Modi is a taller leader,” he said.
He also hit out at the state for accusing Union govt of the state’s share in central taxes. Siddaramaiah is making baseless accusations against Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. “Central govt is sharing GST according to the law. The Congress is making baseless allegations. People are watching everything,” he said.
“If the state approaches the centre properly, it will get funds. When I was the minister, the Centre was releasing funds periodically without any delay,” he said.
