Students raise ₹7 lakh for a cause | Mysuru News – Times of India

Mysuru: 66 students from Delhi Public School, Mysuru, raised Rs 7.5 lakh to support various causes through crowdfunding. Students from Class 8 to 12 have raised funds to give a unique back-to-school kit for children in rural schools and give the gift-of-sight to children from low income homes who suffer from cataract.
The objective of the campaign is to give the rural students a unique back-to-school kit that will support their health and education.These kits are made from recycled materials. Done in partnership with Greensole Foundation this will provide a unique back-to-school kit to rural students. Each kit includes upcycled footwear, study mat and a school bag.
Grade 10-12 students launched a crowdfunding campaign in collaboration with Usha Kiran Hospital, Mysuru. The funds raised will be utilised to provide cataract surgeries for children in various rural locations across Karnataka, ensuring that a modest amount of Rs 25,000 ensures a child avoids blindness. 36 students from Grade 9-10 have raised Rs 4.06 lakh which will help provide back-to-school kits to 450 students in rural Karnataka. 30 students of Grade 10-12 have raised Rs 3.5 lakh . tnn
