Hyderabad: To enhance groundwater levels in city by allowing rainwater to seep into ground, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is going to introduce pervious concrete .
In collaboration with Re Sustainability Limited, an C&D management agency, GHMC has developed pervious concrete blocks and tiles.
GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose directed officials and waste management agencies to produce porous concrete and tiles using recycled materials from construction and demolition sites.
A successful demonstration was held and a pilot project to lay porous concrete footpaths will be initiated. tnn
