Gold surges by Rs 940 to hit a record high of Rs 62,020; Silver rises by Rs 660 – Times of India

New Delhi: Gold on Thursday rose by Rs 940 to Rs 62,020 per 10 grams in the national capital amid a firm global trend. HDFC Securities gave this information.
In the previous trade, gold had closed at Rs 61,080 per 10 grams.
silver also rose by Rs 660 to Rs 76,700 per kg.
After an overnight rise in the international market, gold prices registered a record high in the domestic market. Somil Gandhisaid Senior Analyst-Commodities, HDFC Securities.
In the overseas market, gold and silver were trading higher at $2,039.50 an ounce and $25.50 an ounce, respectively.
Gold prices rose in Asian trading hours on Thursday due to a fall in the dollar and bond yields after the US Fed indicated policy tightening from its next meeting following a 25 basis point hike in benchmark interest rate, said Gandhi.
