After Badal lost the Bathinda Urban seat in the 2022 state assembly elections, he was not visible in party meetings

Punjab Congress chief Amarinder Singh Raja Waring on Wednesday termed Manpreet Singh Badal’s resignation from the party as a “good holiday”, terming him as an “inborn power-hungry”. Badal joined the BJP in Delhi after quitting the Congress.

“Let’s get rid of it. @MSBADAL is born power hungry. He joined @INCIndia knowing that the party is winning. 5 years is a long time for someone like him to be out of power, anyone knows No. Instead of crying martyrdom, he should apologize to the Congress for the betrayal.

In another tweet, he said, “No Mir Jafar ever emerged as a king to be remembered for, his shameful fate is etched in India’s political history.” Badal, who is the nephew of former chief minister Parkash Singh Badal, had joined the Congress in 2016 after he formally merged his party People’s Party of Punjab with the grand old party.

After Badal lost the Bathinda Urban seat in the 2022 state assembly elections, he was not visible in party meetings.

The differences between Badal and Waring were well known in party circles.

Badal is another senior most Congress leader who joined the BJP. Earlier, other leaders including former Chief Minister Amarinder Singh and Sunil Jakhar had joined BJP.

Badal, a five-time MLA, was the finance minister in the previous Congress government.

Meanwhile, Shiromani Akali Dal leader Daljit Singh Cheema also took a jibe at the Congress after Badal’s resignation, saying that with the speed with which Congress leaders are joining the BJP, the saffron party should do something for its “original BJP leaders”. Seats must be reserved. “Considering the rapid induction of Congress leaders in the Punjab BJP unit, I humbly appeal to the BJP high command to reserve at least 3 Lok Sabha and 23 assembly seats for the original BJP leaders who have worked hard for the party for decades. working hard Cheema said in a tweet.
