taking on Sarcasm on nephew Ajit PawarNationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar, 83, said on July 8, “I will hold rallies outside Maharashtra. neither tired nor retired (I am neither tired, nor retired),” said Mr. Sharad Pawar.

Mr Pawar, who began his Maharashtra tour on July 8 from Yeola in Nashik district, about 250 km from Mumbai, said he has embarked on a mission to resurrect his party and said, “Do you know Morarji At what age did Desai become the Prime Minister? I don’t want to be the prime minister or a minister, but only want to serve the people.”

Senior Pawar begins his tourThe senior NCP leader will visit the constituency of Chhagan Bhujbal (now with Ajit Pawar) and also visit Nashik, Pune, Solapur and various areas of the Vidarbha region.

A day after parting ways with the party and taking oath as Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar criticized his uncle for working for 83 years in a public rally. He had said, “You presented me as a villain in front of everyone. I still have deep respect for him (Sharad Pawar)…but you tell me, IAS officers retire at 60…even in politics – BJP leader aged 75 I retire. You can see the example of LK Advani and Murli Manohar Joshi. ..It gives a chance to the new generation to move forward,” he had said.

The leaders along with Ajit Pawar have also sought the name and symbol of the party and said that there is no division in the party as more than 40 members of the Legislative Assembly support him.

NCP supremo Mr. Pawar had said on July 2, “This situation may be new for some people but not for me. My goal would be to replicate the 1980’s scenario. In 1980, out of 58 MLAs of my party, all but six deserted me. I became the leader of just five MLAs and started touring Maharashtra with the aim of reviving my party. In the next election, all except three or four of those who left me lost… I have full faith in the people of Maharashtra and its youth and I will visit the state again,” he had said.
