The violent clash between the two sides in Jamshedpur on Saturday night intensified on Sunday. Many shops were set on fire and there was a lot of stone pelting. The matter calmed down late in the night. The situation is under control on Monday morning. Internet service has been suspended in Jamshedpur. Security forces are deployed, Section 144 has been imposed in the area.

Stone-pelting broke out between two communities in Kadma Shastri Nagar block number two on Sunday evening. After the stone-pelting, the police also received information about firing. Police also fired in the air to control the situation. Stone pelters set shops on fire. Six shops, two bikes were burnt.

Jharkhand Fire Brigade and two fire engines of Tata Steel were called to bring the situation under control. Several policemen, including SSP Prabhat Kumar, were injured in the stone-pelting that lasted for about three hours.

Police detained more than 60 youths who were pelting stones and creating ruckus from a religious place. Tension prevailed in the area, but the security forces have brought the situation under control.

Section-144 has been imposed in Jamshedpur. Three companies of RAF reached at 9 pm on Sunday night. Late night a force of 400 jawans was called from Chaibasa and Seraikela. At the same time, Zap 6 jawans have also been deployed.

Appealing to maintain peace, Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav said some anti-social elements have tried to disturb communal harmony. The administration is monitoring the entire situation. It is an appeal not to pay heed to any kind of rumor and cooperate with the administration in maintaining peace.
