Kanpur: Cross-examination of Dharmendra Kumar Singh, the first investigating officer in the Jajmau arson case, is over. Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki, his brother Rizwan Solanki and others. The prosecution will present its last witness before the second investigating officer on Monday.
According to Additional District Public Prosecutor Bhaskar Mishra, Dharmendra Kumar was the 13th prosecution witness and his examination was recorded on Thursday and he was cross-examined by the defense team for two days. The court has now fixed June 19 as the next date for prosecution evidence.
On the Tahrir of Nazeer Fatima of Jajmau, the police had accused the SP MLA, his brother and about half a dozen people in the case of arson. Nazir Fatima had accused her brother Irfan Solanki in her FIR Rizwan Solanki and others allegedly set her hut on fire on November 7, 2022, with the intention of taking possession of her plot. The police had registered a case against the accused under sections 436/506/147/327/427/386/504/120B IPC.
