However, the Ranveer Singh starrer found its audience on the OTT platform. And now, the film will be screened at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London, considered the Mecca of cricket, where India won the coveted trophy for the first time.
Reports suggest that it was the management of Lord’s who reached out to the makers of the film saying that they would like to organize a special screening of the same. Director Kabir Khan said that it is common for films to be shown where they were shot, such as The Shawshank Redemption, with screenings held in major prisons.
Khan also said that he is accompanied by former cricketers Kapil Dev and Balwinder Singh Sandhu will be present for the screening and will also interact with the audience. In fact, he also revealed that the screening will take place on the ground and the audience will be seated on turf, helping them get as real an experience as possible. There is no confirmation yet whether the cast of the film will be present for the same or not.
Apart from Ranveer Singh, 83 co-stars Pankaj Tripathi, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Amy ActiveSaqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu, Sahil Khattar and Deepika Padukone in an extended cameo.
