Karnataka Elections: BJP campaigner Kichha Sudeepa mobbed outside poll booth after casting her vote

Kiccha Sudeepa cast her vote on Wednesday as part of the ongoing elections in Karnataka. The actor was a star campaigner for the BJP.

Karnataka Elections 2023: Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeepa, who is a star campaigner for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was seen casting his vote in Bengaluru on Wednesday afternoon. A video of the actor at the polling booth has surfaced online. While the actor was surrounded by a handful of people at the booth, he was greeted by a group of media personnel.

Sudeepa was surrounded by cameras and microphones, waiting to take a bite from the media star. Watch video and pictures below:

Speculations were rife that Kannada actor Kiccha Sudeep would join the BJP and contest the Karnataka elections. However, on 5 April, Sudeep made it clear that he would neither contest the upcoming state elections nor join the party. Addressing the press, he said, “I have come here to extend my support to Basavaraj Bommai, whom I call ‘Mama’ with love and respect.” Reportedly, he has said, “I will only campaign for the BJP, I am not contesting the upcoming Karnataka elections.”

Meanwhile, earlier in the day, Kantara star Rishabh Shetty stood in line on Wednesday afternoon to cast his vote for the Karnataka elections. The actor chose to wear a white dhoti and shirt on election day. Rishabh shared a picture on Instagram holding his voter/election card with an ink mark on his finger, indicating that he has cast his vote. In the subsequent picture, Rishabh is seen posing with some elderly fellow voters as they queue up for their turn. In the third, Rishabh was seen patiently waiting for his turn.

Sharing the pictures, Rishabh wrote in Kannada, “We are proud citizens of a democratic country. Also, voting is not only our right but also our responsibility. Vote without missing to elect an able representative to build a better society. I have voted for the better future of our Karnataka. Have you voted yet?”
