Prayagraj: Carrying forward the legacy of her late husband, a 60-year-old woman from Kaushambi, has been writing the name of Lord Ram at least 500 times a day for the past about two years.
Punam Devi claims to have written the name of Lord Ram more than 2 lakh times on Ram naam booklets and deposited it with Prayagraj-based Sitaram bank.
After the death of husband HS Kesarwani in July 2022, Punam Devi started writing Ram naam from August 2022.
“I carried forward the legacy of my husband to write Ram naam. My husband used to write Ram naam 21,552 times every two months. Writing the lord’s name gives strength and a way to attain salvation,” said Punam.
She said her late husband was an account holder at Sitaram bank and after his death, she has been contributing to it.
“I started writing Ram naam along with my husband. But it was not regular. However, after his death, I have made it habit and take out time to write Ram naam,” she added.
