Kanpur: Police arrested a juvenile identified as Mohammad ZaidResident of civil linesfor allegedly kidnapping and raping Minor A girl from another community in a city restaurant.
The accused allegedly abducted the class X student when she had gone to attend class on Monday. He then took her to a restaurant in Vikasnagar area and raped her.
The incident came to light when the accused dropped the girl at her school and the school management, on suspicion, alerted the girl’s parents, who approached the Colonelganj police with a complaint.
On getting information about the case, VHP worker Krishna Tiwari and Bajrang Dal workers reached Colonelganj police station and created ruckus and demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and his family members. He alleged that not only the Muslim youth, but his entire family is also involved in such cases.
ACP Colonelganj Akmal Khan said that the accused has been arrested on Monday. Khan said, “If the involvement of his family members comes to light in the investigation, their names will be linked in the case.” “It is learned that the minor was raped inside a restaurant,” he added. If it is confirmed, action will be taken against the restaurant owner as well.” TNN
