Liquor bound for Saurashtra seized on Vadodara’s outskirts – Latest News | Vadodara News – Times of India

Vadodara: The prevention of crime branch (PCB) of the city police seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 50.06 lakh from an empty LPG tanker near Chhani. The tanker was heading towards Saurashtra.
PCB officials had got a tip-off about the movement of liquor in an LPG tanker and had kept a watch on the highway near Chhani. They were informed that the tanker would come from Halol side.
When the personnel stopped a tanker matching the description and opened it, they found 12,516 bottles worth Rs 50,06,400 in it. Tanker driver Megharam Jat, a resident of Rajasthan, was arrested.
The driver told the police that he had been handed over the tanker near Shahpura village on the Delhi-Jaipur highway asked to travel towards Chotila in Surendranagar district where he was to receive further instruction. The police have obtained the phone number of the employer of the tanker driver and the person who handed over the tanker to him. Further investigation was going on.
