Gadag: A man and his lover allegedly died by suicide in Naregal town in Gajendragad taluk on Saturday after the young woman was forcefully married to another youth on April 4.
Naregal police said Appanna Goraki, 28, and Lalita Halageri, 21, both of Naregal, were found dead on the outskirts of the town. It is learnt that both were in a relationship but elders married off Lalita to another youth 10 days ago.We have registered a case and are investigating it, police said. The bodies were first spotted by farmers in the morning and they subsequently informed police. The victims were wearing T-shirts of same colour. TNN
