Prez Of Vhp’s Nangal Unit Shot Dead At Shop | Chandigarh News – Times of India

PATIALA: VHP’s Nangal unit president, Vikas Prabhakar aka Vikas Bagga, was gunned down at his confectionery shop at around 5.50 pm on Saturday, bringing back memories of the targeted killings that had rocked Punjab some years back.
Vikas was allegedly shot by two unidentified persons at his shop. According to police, the CCTV footage checked so far shows two people entering the shop and leaving after some time.The local shopkeepers claimed that it was a customer who had found Vikas lying in a pool of blood at his shop and informed the nearby traders.
Providing details of the crime, SHO Nangal, Rajneesh Chaudhary, said, “The assailants, wearing helmets and masks, fled the scene after fatally shooting Vikas Prabhakar.”
Ropar SSP Gulneet Khurana said that an empty cartridge was recovered, indicating a planned attack. “We’re exploring all angles, including robbery, rivalry, or a premeditated murder,” he added
A case under sections pertaining to murder and common intention of the Indian Penal Code is being registered. He also said that CCTV footage of the area was being checked to identify the accused.
Local businessman Rajneesh Angara said, “Crimes plague our town daily.”
