Man beats up woman neighbour over petty dispute in Navi Mumbai | Navi Mumbai News – Times of India

NAVI MUMBAI: The police in Navi Mumbai reported that they have filed charges against a 44-year-old man for allegedly assaulting a woman from his neighborhood.
Acting upon a complaint filed by the 35-year-old woman, authorities have initiated legal proceedings under sections 452 (house trespass after preparing for harm, assault, or wrongful restraint), 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman), and 323 (voluntarily causing harm) of the Indian Penal Code.
The incident occurred on September 1 in the Vavanje area of Panvel. During this time, the woman was engaged in washing clothes outside her residence, and some of the water inadvertently splashed into the neighboring house belonging to the accused, Dhanraj Mhatre.
Following this, Dhanraj entered the woman’s residence, verbally abused her, and physically assaulted her. As a result of the assault, the woman had to be hospitalized.
