Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, Union Minister of Textiles, Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of State for Textiles and Railways Darshan JardoshNavsari MP CR Patil, Gujarat Minister and Surat MLA were present.
PM Mitra Park Being developed on 1,141 acres of land.
CM Patel told the audience that the state government had received 1,809 applications for land in the park. The demand for land is about four times more than the land offered for the park.
In his address, Patil said, “Considering the number of applications, I have asked the Navsari District Collector to check whether additional land is available to further expand the park.” Patil requested the state government to level the land.
CM Patel assured Patil that the work of leveling would be done on priority. “The PM has decided to make India a global leader in textile production. This park will generate employment opportunities for the local people,” he said.
Goyal said, “Recently, we saw a video clip of PM Narendra Modi when he was the CM of Gujarat. They had thought of a facility like this park much earlier.”
“In 2013-14, India was one of the five fragile economies and within nine years, we are the fifth largest economy in the world and will soon become the third largest,” Goyal said.
PM Mitra Park will be developed on the concept of availability of all sectors of textile industry at one place. Officials said that one of the major concerns for the industry is sustainability and environment for which dedicated infrastructure will be developed.
