NIA begins probe into Bengaluru cafe blast after MHA diktat | Bengaluru News – Times of India

BENGALURU: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday began its probe into the Rameshwaram Cafe blast that injured nine people in the city on March 1.
A team of NIAsleuths, including IGP Santosh Rastogi, visited the cafe for a spot inspection and reconstructed the crime scene.
Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths are also continuing their probe in the case, which was registered at theHAL police station.
NIA registered the case following directions from the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) as Karnataka govt did not hand over the investigation to the central agency.
However, NIA officials from Bengaluruhad visited the spot and collected details of the blast. NIA officials from Telangana, Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu have been camping in Bengaluru since March 2 and are coordinating with the city police and Intelligence Bureau (IB).
