The courtroom drama finally ended late on Friday night at the Islamabad High Court, when former Prime Minister Imran Khan left the court premises to go to his home in Lahore. Thousands of party workers joined Imran Khan as he crossed the toll plaza on the Islamabad-Lahore highway. Hours before he was released, Imran Khan alleged in a video message that Islamabad’s IG Police Akbar Nasir tried to stop him from leaving the court premises, but later when the former PM threatened to stage a protest, So they agreed. Four different benches of the Islamabad High Court granted him bail on more than a dozen petitions seeking to prevent his arrest. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif is disappointed after the court granted bail to Imran Khan. Pakistan’s judiciary has turned a blind eye to Shahbaz Sharif’s plan. The Prime Minister had planned to implicate Imran Khan in such a large number of cases that it was difficult for his lawyers to get him bail. The plan was also to disqualify Imran Khan from contesting elections, but the judiciary has made Imran Khan a hero. Now it is clear that the judiciary will not allow Imran Khan to be arrested, while the ruling establishment will try its best not to come out. Pakistan’s Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah and other ministers alleged that Imran’s party had trained about 200 workers in violence and arson, and also trained them in making explosives. The houses of army officers were set on fire. The ministers said they would try to keep Imran behind bars at all costs. Whereas, the people of PPP-PML government are angry and shocked that the Supreme Court not only gave protection to Imran Khan, but also gave him respect, when the Chief Justice told the former PM inside the court, “Glad to see you”. . Shahbaz Sharif’s ministers still challenge how long the judiciary will help Imran Khan stay away from jail. The ruling coalition PDM (Pakistan Democratic Movement) has announced that its supporters will protest against the judges outside the Supreme Court from Monday. I think, this will indirectly help Imran Khan. One thing to note is that both Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial and President of Pakistan Arif Alvi support Imran Khan and both want general elections soon. The ruling coalition government wants to delay the elections. President Arif Alvi’s term ends on September 9, while Chief Justice Bandyal will retire on September 16. It seems that Shahbaz Sharif will try to make Imran Khan go round the court and jail. After mid-September, when Pakistan gets a new president and a new chief justice, measures will be taken to prevent Imran Khan and his party from contesting elections. Only in this way elections will be held. Imran Khan understands the strategy of the Sharif government. He will try his best to create such a situation in Pakistan that angers the common people and forces the government to hold early elections. In short, this is the political game being played in Pakistan.

Sameer Wankhede exposed in Aryan Khan case

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday raided 29 places in Mumbai, Delhi, Kanpur and Ranchi and registered an FIR against five people, including former zonal director of Narcotics Control Bureau Sameer Wankhede. Wankhede is an officer of the Indian Revenue Service. They arrested superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan in a drugs seizure case two years ago during a cruise raid in Mumbai. At that time Wankhede was facing many allegations and he was removed from NCB. Evidence has been found that how Wankhede had filed a spurious drugs case against Shahrukh Khan’s son and demanded a bribe of Rs 25 crore to release Aryan Khan. The FIR states that Rs 25 lakh was given as advance to Wankhede. Aryan Khan was released from jail after 22 days and later NCB gave him a clean chit. The vigilance team of NCB probed the matter and sent a detailed report to the NCB chief and the Ministry of Home Affairs, following which the CBI registered a corruption case. Wankhede is currently working in the Tax Payer Services Department in Chennai. It is strange that those who were calling Sameer Wankhede the most honest officer and hero, are now silent. The facts are clear. Sameer Wankhede prepared a false case against Aryan Khan and Aryan had to spend 22 days in jail. At that time I had clearly said that Wankhede had filed a false case because no drugs were found with Aryan, but our system is such that he was also sent to jail. And look at the figure of Rs 25 crore, which was demanded from him as bribe. It crossed all limits of corruption, blackmail and greed. No one can bring Aryan Khan back those 22 dreadful days, but people will now have more faith in the almighty. Those who commit atrocities on innocent people are punished at the appropriate time. The CBI case against Sameer Wankhede is one such example.

The Kerala Story: Why Banning It Won’t Work

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath along with his ministers and state BJP chief Bhupendra Chowdhary watched the special screening of the film ‘The Kerala Story’ in Lucknow on Friday. Praising the film, the Chief Minister said that it exposes the ongoing conspiracy in the name of religious conversion. The film has been declared tax free in UP. On Friday, the Supreme Court asked the Mamata Banerjee government of West Bengal why the film, which was running in cinema halls in other parts of the country, was banned. A bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud and Justice PS Narasimha said, “West Bengal is no different from any other part of the country. If the public thinks it’s not worth watching, they won’t watch it.” I agree with what the Supreme Court said. ‘The Kerala Story’ is a film. It should be treated as a creative work of art rather than used as political fodder. Those who don’t like it can’t watch it. The arguments advanced by the Governments of Tamil Nadu and West Bengal citing the issue of law and order are not tenable. If such arguments are accepted as valid, then any state government can ban the exhibition of any film by citing intelligence information. In this digital era, one can watch movies sitting at home. Banning films is not the solution.
